At present, according to the different sugar-making process, saccharified sugar can be divided into sulfur sugar and carbohydrate sugar. Sugar carbide has a long shelf life, good quality and relatively high price compared with sugars. At present, many sugar factories in China produce sugars.

Sulfated sugar-sulfite cleaning technology is a typical method of cleaning and decolorizing sugar syrup in sugar production industry. Because this method has the characteristics of less equipment, simple process and convenient management, it has been widely used in sugar industry in China. However, compared with the carbonate cleaning technology, the sulfite cleaning process mainly relies on acid and sulfite to absorb impurities in the additives, and the sulfur effect of syrup is based on the reduction reaction. Therefore, the quality of white granulated sugar produced by the sulfite sugar factory is not good, and there is a yellowing phenomenon after a long time.
For one thing, the white granulated sugar produced by sulfite sugar mill may meet the requirements of physical and chemical indexes of the product, but the individual non-sugar indexes can not meet the requirements, which is the reason for the poor quality of white granulated sugar produced by sulfite sugar mill. Thus, the color value of white granulated sugar can reach about 150 IU, even more than 200 IU at high temperature. Obviously, in order to improve the quality of sulfite sugar, the trend must be to reduce the color value of the product.
Incidental condition
Characteristic of Carbon Saccharides: Carbon (acid) method is used to remove lime and carbon dioxide as scavengers. Carbon (acid) method is used to produce edible sugar. Carbon (acid) method is also called carbohydrate (acid) method. In the production of edible sugar by carbon (acid) method, more non-saccharides were removed than by sulfite method, resulting in higher purity of saccharides, lower color value, less sulphur content, and lasting color stability. However, the process of carbonation process is more complex, requiring more machinery and equipment, and using more lime and carbon dioxide, so the production cost is higher.
